The tour begins with the sightseeing tour of Thimpu. Trashichhoe Dzong, the beautiful medieval time fortress, National Library housing ancient Buddhist texts and manuscripts, Textile and Folk Heritage Museum and Stupa of Memorial Chorten among others are major historical landmarks we explore in Thimpu.
Our second destination is Trsonga, which is a wonderful destination catering astounding landscapes. Historical aspects in Trongsa include the ancestral home to Bhutanese Royal family. We will feast our eyes with the incredible views at Trosngsa and set out to explore another historical town, Punakha. After exploring the 17th century Dzong in Punakha, which survived several fires and quakes we set out to explore the highlights of Paro.
At Paro, we take an insightful tour of historical landmarks like National Museum, which houses a wide collection of artistic objects like thankas and postal stamps. Then we tread down to explore Rinpung Dzong that has the glorified history. The final highlight of our Bhutan Historical Tour is a three-hour long walk to cliff hanging Taktshang Monastery or Tiger's Nest. The dramatic location of the monastery and the interesting myth associated with it makes the monastery the incredible tourist destination in Paro. Walk back to the hotel in Paro and end the memorable historical tour in the land of Thunder Dragon.
