Our guide will welcome in Lhasa Gonggar airport, than drive to City of Lhasa which is around 90 km. After checking in the hotel the rest of the day is free for acclimatization.
Today we will have a tour around Lhasa city. The tour includes Potala Palace , the Jokhang and the surrounding Bakhor market. The rest of the day is free for activities.
After breakfast we drive to Shigatse city which is the capital of Tibet. After Checking in the hotel you are granted an hour to visit and explore the second largest city of Tibet. This includes the world famous Tashilhunpo Monastery.
After Breakfast we drive to Parayang via Saga which is around 7-8 hours from Shigatse. In Parayang we meet our Nepali staff and crew who arrived from Kathmandu. During our drive we can see Mt. Everest , Mt. Shishapangma and other beautiful mountains. We also touch the Brahmaputra river and pass through it. We check into the hotel. The meals are all prepared by our crew.
After breakfast we prepare for our journey to Mansarovar Lake.. We drive via Dongba to Mansarovar Lake.We get the best view of Tibet Nomad , The Himalayas , Brahmaputra River and the wildlife. We will have lunch at Mayumla Phadi. After lunch we cross the Mayumla Pass (which is one of the highest passes). We complete a half parikrama of the Mansarovar lake followed by an overnight stay at Tsu Gompa which lies at the west side of Mansarovar lake.You can clean your soul by touching the holy waters of Mansarovar lake. The meals throughout the day are prepared by our staff.
We start our morning by taking a holy bath in the Mansarovar lake. We will look for a special point where we can take a dip into the holy lake’s cold water. After the bath we will conduct a Puja , Hawan and other spiritual activities. After the activities we have free time till lunch. After lunch we take a drive to Darchen which is around 40 km from Mansarovar Lake. After reaching Darchen we prepare for Kailash Parikrama. The meals throughout the day are prepared by our staff.
After breakfast we take a drive from Darchen to Yamadwar ( Gate of God of the death).From here we start our trek to DiraPuk which is around 11 km. The accommodation is very basic dormitory room on sharing basis. We can see the best view of Kailash Parvat’s North side. We can hike up for a closer and better view. You can rest and refresh in the hotel where our crew provides you with soup and drinks.
We are going to trek along the Gange river to the feet of Mt.Kailash. The walk is gradual uphill to charan sparsh and the walk back is downhill upto DiraPuk Monastery. We will be walking around 6 to 7 hrs and about 12 km. We can see a mesmerizing view of Kailash Parvat from the top and we can also see the whole north side view. Our yatra team consists of a full support team and we have oxygen just in case of an emergency.
This is the longest day of the trip and the main goal of Kailash Mansarovar Yatra. We start yatra very early in the morning after a quick breakfast and drinks. The sacred walk we are going on passes through Shivatsal. We also pass the highest pass i.e Dolma La pass which is around 5630 m above sea level. We also pass through Parvati Kunda. We trek to Zutul Puk monastery.Overnight stay at very basic mud house with dormitory beds in Zutul Puk monastery side. The meals throughout the day are prepared by our staff along with hot drinks
We eat breakfast early in the morning. After breakfast we take a 2 hours sacred walk to Chogndo. After our final sacred walk we drive back to Darchen. The holy kailash parikrama is completed and we drive back to Saga via Mansarovar Lake which makes the full kora of Mansarovar. We check in to the Hotel in Saga. The meals throughout the day are prepared by our staff.
This is the last breakfast from our crew here in Saga. After breakfast our crew will return back to Kathmandu. We will drive to Lhasa with our guides. Lunch and dinner are both provided in a clean and hygienic restaurant. The return journey to Shigatse consists of a beautiful view of Mt. Everest and Himalayas. We will check into a hotel in Shigatse.
We continue our journey back to Lhasa city from Shigatse via Lhatse. The drive is around 9 hrs. The rest of the day is free as we prepare to exit Lhasa and Tibet the next day. It will be the final night for Kailash Tour.
We take breakfast early in the morning and get ready to proceed towards the Airport in Lhasa. Say final good bye from here.
