NAGARKOT HIKING:
Nagarkot is the most popular destination for hiking in Nepal which offers the Himalayan Panoramic views, hiking through pine forests, exploration of local villages and culture, lush valleys and terraces. You will have an opportunity to view the superb sunrise and sunset over the majestic Himalayas including Mt. Everest (8848m), Dorje Lakpa (6988m), Langtang Lirung (7219m), Gauri Shanker (7145m) and Ganesh Himal (6704m).
KAKANI HIKING:
Kakani is situated at the 2100m high from the sea level and 25 km North West of Kathmandu Valley. It is the popular view point of Nepal and famous hiking hill station. Kakani offers the panoramic views of Majestic Himalayas including Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang and Gaurishanker. Kakani is 3 km off the main Dhunche road. It takes about 1½ hours to get to Kakani from Kathmandu by car. Buses to Kakani depart from the Kathmandu bus station on Ring Road. You can also catch from there a bus to Trisuli or Dhunche and get down at Kaulithana and then walk 3km to Kakani.
PHULCHOWKI HIKING
Phulchowki with the elevation of 2782m is the highest hill station situated in the south of Kathmandu valley. From the Godavari (Royal Botanical Garden) we start hiking after the breakfast hiking gradually uphill through the thick forests about 4 hours. Phulchowki hiking is the most fascinating wilderness hiking trip around the hill station of Kathmandu valley. The hike offers the magnificent views of stunning Annapurna Range in the east, breathtaking views of Kathmandu Valley, bird watching, exploration of local hill village and people. After the launch, we hike down the same route to Godavari and drive back to Kathmandu.
SHIVAPURI HIKING:
Shivapuri situated at an altitude of 2563m north of Kathmandu is second highest hill around Kathmandu valley. Baghdwar, Shivapuri locates near source of holy river Bagmati. After breakfast at the hotel, we drive for about 20 minutes to Budhanikantha Temple, 8 kms north of Kathmandu.
From Budhanilkantha we walk through Shivapuri conservation area. This is the Government protected forest where over 500 species are found. We start our hike from the southern boundary of the area where the army check post is located. Nagi Gumpasituated at an altitude of 2330 m north of Kathmandu and above Budhanilkantha Temple is only Monastery for the Nuns practice Buddhism and foreigners often come there for meditation. It is a steep uphill hike through narrow and dusty trail for about half an hour and two hours gradual uphill trial to Shivapuri. After lunch and strolling around from sometime , we take a short cut down hill trail to Kopan for about two hours and drive back to Kathmandu.
DHULIKHEL NAMOBUDDHA DAY HIKING (PANAUTI-DHULIKHEL)
Dhulikhel Namobuddha Day Hiking is the best day hiking trip in Kathmandu valley with the visit of famous Buddhist pilgrimage site Namobuddha. The hiking trip starts from the Dhulikhel to the Namobuddha Monastery passing through Newari village, rice terraced fields and green pine and rhododendron forests. Dhulikhel Namobuddha Hiking trip offers you the superb panoramic views of Gaurishanker, Dorje Lakpa, Ganesh Himal, Langtang Liring Himalayan ranges. Namo Buudda is an ancient and famous Buddhist monastery in Nepal situation at 1750 meters. The monastery is surrounded by Tamang settlements. A special Buddhist legend of King Mahasattva offering his body to a hungry tigress at the very place also makes Namo Budhha a holy site for Buddhist people.
CHAMPADEVI HIKING:
Pharping Champadevi hiking is an easy and enjoyable day hike in the southern hill of Kathmandu valley. This hiking tour starts in the morning after an hour drive to Pharping village on the way to celebrated Dakshinkali Temple. Dakshinkali Temple is a symbol of goddess Kali and attracts thousands of devotees every day. There is special worship take place every Tuesday and Saturday where hundreds of animals scarified on the name of god to fulfill the human wish. It will take about 2 hours to reach on top of ridge. Champadevi hill (2285m.) is also a pilgrimage site itself having Buddhist Stupa and Hindu Shrine on the top. Walking through the lush pine forest on well develop trail is really wonderful experience. Superb view of Langtang, Gauri Shankar, Jugal, Dorge Lakpa Himalayas are the major attraction of the hiking. Apart from it, we can observe the bustling Kathmandu city and spectacular village settlements from the top. Several return routes are possible.
The hiking trail is suitable for beginners. Hike is for around 5-6 hours.
